40 Days of Love

Hey,

 

We are in the middle of 40 days of Love and it has been a GREAT thing so far.  This week in our small groups we will be diving into “Loving Like Jesus Loves Me”.   This should be a fun topic to dive into and see how to truly love others the way God loves.

 

Anyway enjoy your week, find a small group or a place to serve this week you will be glad you did.

Who Is In Control?

Hey,

 

I feel a little uncertain about America’s future with the election, now having a very liberal government and then watching the Expelled movie with Ben Stein.  Wow, did that open up my eyes to some things.  Then God hit me right between the eyes with this word in my reading time yesterday:

 

Isa 41:4 (CEV) Who makes these things happen? Who controls human events? I do! I am the LORD. I was there at the beginning; I will be there at the end.

 

So, if you are a little frazzled about anything, remember God knows what you are going through.  After all, who controls human events?

HOPE!!

Hey,

 

I was studying this morning and read this portion of scripture and it gave me a renewed hope in the future.

 

Isaiah 25: 6- 9 (CEV)

 

 

 

On this mountain the LORD All-Powerful will prepare for all nations a feast of the finest foods. Choice wines and the best meats will be served.

Here the LORD will strip away the burial clothes that cover the nations.

The LORD All-Powerful will destroy the power of death and wipe away all tears. No longer will his people be insulted everywhere. The LORD has spoken! At that time, people will say, "The LORD has saved us! Let's celebrate. We waited and hoped-- now our God is here."

 

We have to remember 3 things. In the end God wins. God is ALL-Powerful and will accomplish His plan. God is more concerned with our character then our comfort.

Keep moving forward!!!!

SUCCESS

Hey,

 

How do you define success?  I know many believe that it is what you have, what you can do, and what YOU can achieve.  This is how John Wooden labeled success.  “ Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming ( for the group).”   Jim Tressel added for the group.  I love it!!!!   Are you doing the best you can NOT just for you but for the group?  At home are you the best for your family?  At work are you the best for  your employer?  At church are you the best for each other? 

 

Just a thought KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!!

God is GOOD!!!!!

Hey,

I have been on a spiritual high lately with the goodness of God.  I just wanted to share just a few of the things God has been doing lately.

1.    I had the privilege to help a couple that was going down the wrong path get back on track with God and each other.  It was so awesome how God just planted the right words to say to challenge and encourage this couple.  I love it when God shows off.
2.    Jeremiah, my son, just turned 8 and it has been great to see him grow up in God.  He prayed with dad at age 3 to receive Jesus and is a spiritual help to his father at times.  (Ask him, he will tell you how.)
3.    Vicky and I started a new small group for couples and the first 2 weeks have been great.  We have talked about security and honor and how that applies to our relationships.  It has been great fun and makes me love my wife even more.
4.    My family is in Toledo, Ohio to witness and participate in a wedding.  After 26 years of dating and 3 years of being engaged, Vicky’s’ dad is getting married.

Anyway, hope all is moving forward in your spiritual walk and if it’s not, God is closer than you think.  Just call out to Him, He is ready to be with you!!!!

The BIG C

Hey,

Check out Proverbs 6:7-8 (CEV). It says, “Ants don’t have leaders, but they store up food during the harvest season.” Is that not amazing how organized, how structured ants are? Yet they don’t have leaders. That just freaked me out, blew my mind, that I dug into it. What I found is ants are in constant communication. They produce a chemical called pheromones and that is how they do so much together. What an awesome thing it would be if humans could communicate in a way that would create that type of community. We could do awesome things together for God. Just a random thought…… Have a great day!

Little Bird!!

Hey,

 

My children, Katie and Jeremiah, found a new born bird that was injured.  They have become this bird’s mother and are feeding and caring for this bird.  It is amazing that they looked on-line and found out how to care for the bird so it would be able to live.  They are in the process of feeding this bird every 14-18 minutes.  They have named the bird Lucky, and it is a great lesson in life for them.  It makes me think about how small each one of us is in this great big world.  Yet even as insignificant as we are we can have a profound impact on our children and the next generation.  How? Just stay focused and feed children the word of God and be an example of God in action.

REST

Hey,

 

Have you ever thought about rest?  I have. My family and I were on vacation up at Cedar Point and the activities involved in that made me think of all the different things that can distract us from actually getting the rest that God has made us for.  Have you ever thought about entering into God’s rest and what that would truly mean?  God set the example for us in the fact that he rested on the 7^th day.  We must follow in His footsteps and take a day, or a Sabbath, and rest.  How are you doing?

ONE PRAYER

Hey,

 

I am so excited about ONE PRAYER, our new series starting this Sunday.   It will be different from anything we have ever done.  What would your one prayer be for the church?  Not just our church, but the church Jesus died for.
